Get back into better running shape.  Train to run a good 1/2 marathon sometime in the nearish future (no commitments yet)

Get into good shape and stay there.

I am married to the greastest guy and I have 5 awesome kids - 17, 16, 13, and 5 yr old twins.

Went walking with Jenny this morning.  Felt good to walk and stretch the muscles.  By the end though I was having pretty much constant pain on my left knee - in the back of the knee.  That's a new pain.  Kind of discouraging.  Came home and iced it.  That was the knee that hurt during the marathon and I don't know if that's still some residual pain and swelling.

I am so glad I committed to Jenny last night to meet her this morning at 6:15 am.  That was actually sleeping in a little from when we regularly go.  I didn't get to bed until midnight because my husband and I were at the awesome ending Utah game!!!

Anyway, it was hard to get up but I'm glad I did.  We started out walking to warm up and then a very slow shuffle/jog and then picked up the pace through the run.  It felt good to run out on the road again but did have knee issues.  Hopefully those will go away soon.  We were out for about 45 minutes.

Good luck to all those who are running the St george Marathon tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you.

Had a good run with Jenny this morning.  Tried a variation on a regular route - going up Cavalier was tough and I had to stop and walk longer than the 1 minute interval.  Still feel like I'm going pretty slow and still recovering.  Both knees were letting me know they were there and not happy.

It was so interesting reading everyone's race reports.  Can't imagine surviving that marathon.  So glad I didn't get into St George this year.

4.40 miles  in 52 minutes running with Jenny and Leslie.  The rest of the mileage was walking.  It was so great to go with Leslie again.  It was quite cold to start out.  I'm dreading winter!

I dared to step on the scale this morning - haven't been on since the day after TOU.  I couldn't believe it - I was actually down to 149!  I haven't seen that in a LONG time.  Now if I can just keep going!!

 In the evening for YW we had an exercise night.  A friend of mine from HS days who now teaches fitness classes at the Rec Center came to teach the girls.  She spent about 50 minutes teaching a NIA class and then ended with about 20 minutes of Pilates.  It was fun and a great workout.  I really enjoyed the NIA class a lot and definitely had a good aerobic workout and worked up quite a sweat.  I wish I could get that in for cross-training but the scheduled time of the class won't work out with my schedule.

Muscle up this morning with Cynthia and Jenny.  Today's class went by so slowly.  Tuesday's class went by really quick so maybe that made today seem even longer.

Had a great run today with Jenny.  Total of 5 miles running/ 1 mile walking for warm up and cool down.  Felt good today and picked up the pace.  Ran up the hills.  Today was a good day.  It was COLD and it's only going to get colder.  That is definitely going to be a challenge.

Same run as Friday.  This time Leslie went with us.  It's a good run with hills and slight downhill too.  We try to improve a little each time we go out.  Our average pace improved from 12:43 Friday to 12:18 today.  It was wicked cold but we survived.  I've got to get some warmer running pants.

run/walk this morning with desiree - mostly walk.  I was VERY sore from muscle up yesterday.  I'll be at the cabin rest of the week so I'm not sure how much exercise I'll get in .  I'm going to try.

Went to the rec center with Jenny this morning and we did the treadmills.  My back is really bothering me so I took it easy - lots of walking with some running.  I guess that is what I get for sitting around for a week and no exercise.

Got up early and went to muscle up. I almost called cynthia to tell her I wasn't going because my back was pretty bad when I first got up (lower back pain/bulging disc probably) but it started feeling better and was a lot better after the class.

Got up early and went running with Jenny this morning.  It felt good to get out there again.  It seems like it had been forever.  The weather was perfect and we even got too hot.  My back was really bad last week but its slowly getting better.  I could feel it during the run but not too bad.

It's been a tough week - exercise wise and busy otherwise.

Yesterday I totally slept through my alarm so I didn't wake up in time to go running with Jenny.  I felt really bad that I made her get up for nothing.  I never did go the rest of the day - too busy with errands for our mutual activity - Fear Factor.  I did get plenty of exercise at the activity running around setting everything up.

Went walking with Cynthia and Desiree this morning.  We were out for about an hour.  My knee (back of left knee) really started bothering me for the last 1/2.  What a nightmare - some new/different problem every time I go out.
